Hello, and a warm welcome to my website.

My name is Lyn Davies and I’m a passionate fly-fisherman, instructor, and guide.

I’m a full member of the Game Angling Instructors Association (GAIA), having achieved my single-handed fly-casting certificate. I’m an experienced and accredited angling guide, holding a Level 2 Certificate in ‘Skills and Knowledge for Effective Angling Guiding’ on behalf of Natural Resources Wales (NRW). I’m first aid trained and hold a current advanced DBS certificate. I’m General Secretary of Pontarddulais Angling Association, managing the official website and keeping members up-to-date via a monthly e-newsletter.

My angling career began at the tender age of five, lobbing a single worm into a small stream at the bottom of my parent’s garden. At eleven, I progressed to fly-fishing and began tying my own flies throughout my teenage years. Ever since, I’ve continued to cast a fly to a wide array of species from bank, boat, float-tube, and kayak. Born and bred in Swansea, South Wales, I was introduced to night fly-fishing for sea trout on the River Loughor at an early age. I now specialise in this unique angling discipline and often share my knowledge to visiting anglers.

I’ve been a member of Llandeilo Angling Association for over thirty years, night fishing for sea trout on the majestic River Towy. My other passion are wild brown trout, and I’ve extensive knowledge of fishing the rivers and upland lakes throughout Wales and the borders. I have experience lough style fishing on many of the famous Irish limestone loughs, along with traditional wet fly fishing throughout Scotland, particularly the islands, Islay, Lewis and Hoy. During the winter months, I enjoy grayling fishing on the Upper Wye and River Irfon in mid-Wales.

Having been a photographer for various angling magazines, I’ve been fortunate to fish several more exotic locations. I’ve chased hard fighting bonefish across the Bahamas flats, stalked arctic char and wild brown trout from the crystal-clear waters of Iceland, and casted my way along the beautiful Spanish mountain streams in search of wild brown trout.

I hope you enjoy the website. Get in touch, and let’s go fishing… Tightlines!
