Learn the delicate art of fly-dressing to evolve on your fly-fishing journey.

A double-hook Cats Whisker in the making

Sessions will cover:

  • Tools and techniques for fly-dressing
  • Materials – traditional and modern
  • Basic entomology (the study of insects)
  • Artificial fly types (Dry, Wet, Nymphs, Lures/Streamers).

There is something special about catching fish using your own home-tied creations. Add another dimension to your fly-fishing, learn about entomology and personalise your fly boxes with bespoke fly patterns.

Some take up fly-dressing to cut costs (by losing flies in trees and bushes!), while others see it as a natural progression towards becoming a more accomplished fly-fisherman. Whatever the reason, my beginner sessions will provide an insight into this wonderful art and hopefully inspire you to learn a new skill.

Step by step, you will learn how to make the most popular patterns using both traditional and modern synthetic materials. All equipment will be provided for the sessions. Let me save you the time and effort and help you evolve as a fly-fisherman.
